Clifford the Big Red Dog Is the Latest Children's Character to Get a Terrifying Live-Action Movie Adaptation
It's all right there in the title: to make Clifford the Big Red Dog, you simply need a big, red dog named Clifford. Still, in the terrifying first teaser for Walt Becker's aptly titled Clifford the Big Red Dog, we learn that the titular red dog's essence is more than mere superficialities.

Yes, there is a red dog. Yes, he is big. And you bet your ass he's named Clifford. But this is not the adorable Clifford we recognize from the children's public library. This is simply some random Hollywood pooch that has been dipped in red, evoking both blood and ketchup chips as he mocks us onscreen.

Far be it from us to judge Becker for his decisions. After all, this is the man who brought us both Wild Hogs and Old Dogs — he knows how to merge man and beast for family-friendly entertainment. But the teaser suggests he may have missed the mark.

Then again, they saved Sonic so maybe the powers that be can still allow for some magic to exist in Clifford the Big Red Dog. But for now, we just see a crimson beast mocking us for daring to believe in movie magic.
