Published May 23, 2019Sleater-Kinney are busy at work on a new album produced by St. Vincent. And while details have been slim, we now finally have some new info — including the supposed album title.
Thanks to the ever-diligent Indieheads subreddit, we now know the album is apparently called The Center Won't Hold. As Redditors point out, Mom + Pop's Sleater-Kinney band bio apparently leaked the album title info, as well as the news that the record's first single will reportedly be called "Hurry on Home."
However, the page has now been taken down, making us think this was a bit of a slip-up and wasn't meant to get announced yet.
That said, Sleater-Kinney have just updated their website, sharing that rather intense new press photo you see above. Their site also flashes the words "UNFUCKABLE," "UNLOVABLE" and "UNLISTENABLE."
According to a quote on the now-removed band bio, Sleater-Kinney's Corin Tucker also reportedly had this to say:
The Center Won't Hold drops you into the world of catastrophe that touches on the election. We're not taking it easy on the audience. That song is meant to be really heavy and dark. And almost like a mission statement, at the end of that song, it's like we're finding our way out of that space by becoming a rock band.
Stay tuned for updates — which we're sure must now be coming very soon — as they become available.
